At the end of the Second World War the liner Wilhelm Gustloff sank after the hit of a torpedo.

It was completely overloaded with 9,000 war refugees. For the special effect of the flooding the pool was reconstructed true to original on a scale of 1:5. Due to the placing of various rated break points the model burst within a fraction of a second during the shooting.
